Objectives and competences

The main goal of the Master’s degree is to train highly qualified professionals for the performance of the duties inherent to administrative managers. The competencies gained and developed through this program are the following:  

Specific competencies

  1. The ability to professionally inform, counsel and advise third parties on their relations with public administrations in which a representative can intervene..
  2. The ability to use information technologies (IT) for the exercise of collegiate administrative management.
  3. The ability to design and plan processes and strategies taking into account the specialties and requirements of the different aspects of professional practice.
  4. The ability to anticipate and assess the legal and economic consequences of the designed strategies. 
  5. Being able to apply different techniques of conflict resolution in matters related to the practice of the profession of administrative manager as an alternative to court proceeding.
  6. The ability to propose different alternatives when facing a legal or economical problem and being able to establish a hierarchy and take a decision to reach a suitable solution for the needs of the client. 
  7. Being able to identify and carry out administrative, notarial and registry processes specific to the practice of administrative management. 

General competencies 

  1. Those in possession of this master’s degree are able to take responsibility in their own formative process, their professional development and expertise in the field of administrative management and counselling.
  2. Those in possession of this master’s degree are able to conduct analysis, synthesis and implementation processes thanks to the practice know-how. They are also able to take decisions and rapidly adapt to less-than-ideal circumstances.
  3. Those in possession of this master’s degree are able to carry out an exercise of critical and self-critical thinking. They are also able to be consistent with the ethics and deontology of the profession.
  4. Those in possession of this master’s degree are able to adopt attitudes and processes that are both creative and entrepreneurial. They are also able to put forward, design and manage projects and to search and integrate new knowledge.
  5. Those in possession of this master’s degree are able to assess the social and environmental impact of the practice.
  6. Those in possession of this master’s degree are able to collaborate and cooperate in interdisciplinary and multicultural teams and to contribute to a joint project. 

Basic competencies 

  1. Possessing and understanding knowledge and expertise that enables originality in the development and implementation of ideas, usually in the context of research.
  2. Enabling students to apply the acquired skills and their capacity of solving problems in new or unfamiliar situations in a broader context (or multidisciplinary context) related with their field of knowledge..
  3. Enabling students to integrate knowledge and face the complexities of making judgements from limited or incomplete information which include ethical and social considerations linked to the implementation of their knowledge and judgement.
  4. Enabling students to communicate their conclusions, knowledge and ultimate reasons to a specialised and non-specialised audience in a clear and non-equivocal way
  5. Giving students the learning ability to keep studying in a mostly autonomous way.
